First-time mother Aya can’t help noticing her daughter, Mu-chan, won’t say “Mama” or “Dada” like other kids—in fact, she shows little interest in communicating with her parents at all or in sitting still. When Aya finds out Mu-chan might be autistic, the idea of her child having a developmental delay shatters her vision of motherhood and leaves her spiraling in uncertainty.
