A vibrant and moving picture book about Taiwan’s famous “Rainbow Grandpa,” the man who used the power of art to save his home and inspire millions.

Can art save a home? Huang Yung-fu always loved painting. As a child, he painted with his baba—beautiful pictures that brought joy to his family. However, when war came to China, Yung-fu had no choice but to put down his brushes and leave his home behind.

Years later, he settled into a new home in a Taiwanese village he grew to love with all his heart. When real estate developers ordered him and his neighbors out so they could tear down their homes, Yung-fu knew he didn’t want to move away again.

To save his beloved village, he knew he would have to use his most powerful tool: a paintbrush.

Full of heart and hope, A Village Made of Rainbows is a vibrant and moving picture book about Taiwan’s famous Rainbow Grandpa, the man who used the power of art to save his home and inspire millions.
