This new text recognizes that career counseling is not discrete from other types of counseling and it is therefore important for students of the helping professions to understand career counseling theories and applications. The authors present the topic of career counseling in a socio-historical context. The authors condense the theoretical coverage to avoid a theory-by-theory approach and include several contemporary theorists in addition to traditional sources.
