A wonderfully colorful and whimsical collection of one of the stars of pop-surrealism. Geoffrey Gersten's following of fans has grown steadily over just the past few years, as his works have been shown in many galleries throughout the United States and Asia. Gersten paints in oil in the cllical Old Master tradition, yet his subjects range from retro robots to delightful riffs on Leonardo and Rembrandt, all with a unique fantastical element. Gersten's art appeals to the young and old alike. His book will be a hit with SciFi/Fantasy and comic fans.
Geoffrey Gersten is a painter living and working in Arizona. He was born in 1986 in Phoenix. Self-taught, Gersten was influenced most by classical masters of oil painting and their technique in his early studies. Rembrandt was a particularly powerful influence. Gersten began to develop his own style which often combines whimsical humor and a sense of political irony, all painted in a classical manner.
His work can be found in myriad public and private art collections both in the United States and abroad, and has been seen in numerous galleries including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Scottsdale, Washington DC, & Taipei City.
