Summary

Volume 1 is mainly centered on a vast range of the laws of statistical distributions met in diverse scientific and technical domains. These laws are indispensable to understand the probability behavior of components and mechanical structures exploited in two other volumes dedicated to the reliability and to the quality control. We present not only the laws of distribution of diverse models but also the tests of adequacy suited to confirm or counter the hypothesis of the law in question, namely the tests of Pearson of Kolmogorov-Smirnov and many other relevant tests. This volume distinguishes itself from the other bibliographical works by its originality to present an educational approach which aims at helping the users both in the specialized schools and in the industry. The science of engineering is soiled by uncertainties. The experimental data cost. The design stumbles at random. The objective of the design is to maximize the chances of success of a dimensioning. The objective of this work is to allow the users to understand the main methods. Volume 2 is centered on a vast range of statistical distributions met in reliability. The aim is to run statistical measures, to present a report of enhanced measures in mechanical reliability and to evaluate the reliability of the repairable or not repairable systems. To reach these purposes, we present an approach theory /practice based on these themes: Criteria of failures; Bayesian Applied Probability; Chains of Markov; Simulation of Monte Carlo and finally many solved cases of studies. Volume 3 presents several cases of sampling plans and its applications in the industries. In addition, there are solved case of studies about the main indicators of capability according to ISO / TS 16949, ISO 8258 and FORD.
