York came to faith in Christ as an atheist while studying philosophy at the University of Michigan. As a 'recovering atheist', he seeks to help those furthest from Jesus understand and respond to the Gospel. He has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Michigan and a M.A. in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary.
