More review questions have been added in specific chapters. Corrections have been made with regard to errors, clarity of figures, and symbols. Chapter 12,Lot-By-Lot Acceptance Sampling Plans,has been updated to the ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 and Z1.9 standards. TheSolutions Manual(for instructors) has been completely rewritten.For simplicity, many of the solutions to the mathematical problems in this book have been rounded off to one fewer place than the decimal places of the raw data using simple rounding techniques (e.g., 5 or higher, round up). In practice, one should not round intermediate calculations. Only the final answer should be rounded off to significant decimal places.Product quality is everyone's job, and everyone should be aware of the methods for achieving quality. I sincerely hope that this book will continue to contribute toward that goal.
