She is a current board member of the Writers' Club of Whittier, a professional writers' workshop, and a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She was a board member of International PEN, Orange County Chapter, for several years and served as president of the Professional Writers of Orange County for three years. She was a board member of the Orange County section of the Independent Writers of Southern California for five years.
