Photographer Jürgen Freund was born in Germany. He became a full-time international marine photographer in 1995.

Since then he has traveled all over the world, taking acclaimed pictures which have been published in numerous international magazines and books.

Author Stella Chiu-Freund was born in the Philippines. Since ending a career in advertising, she has been producing documentaries and books and working for production companies.
