Janice F. Almasi, PhD, is the Carol Lee Robertson Endowed Professor of Literacy Education at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Almasi has been the recipient of honors including early career awards from both the National Reading Conference and the International Reading Association. Her research focuses on the contexts in which children learn from texts, such as strategic processes and peer discussion environments. Susan King Fullerton, PhD, is Associate Professor of Literacy and Teacher Education at Clemson University. She is a lead editor for the 61st Yearbook of the Literacy Research Association. Her research focuses on struggling readers, strategic processes in reading, comprehension, literary responses of young children, and literacy acquisition and instruction for deaf children.
