Alex McQuade: Alex McQuade graduated in 2006 from De Montfort University, Leicester, with first class honours in Textile Design and now works from her Leicestershire studio, creating The Alex McQuade Textile Collection – fabric-based jewellery, purses, pouches, framed embroideries, key fobs, cushions, cards and Christmas decorations using felt, lace, linens and cottons. Alex embraces the idea of recycling and deconstructs old items giving new life to buttons, lace, ribbons and old vintage fabrics. Alex's range is sold via a number of outlets throughout the UK, as well as on-line on sites such as Folksy and Not-on-the-High-Street. Alex became a selected member of the Leicester Society of Artists in 2007 and exhibits with them twice a year at New Walk Museum, Leicester.
