Matthew gets to Heaven believing his life was a complete loser: failed musician career in spite of a very promising start, failed marriage, no relationship with his child, ruined parents - he just made a complete mess of everything and barely survives as a musician in the London tube where he eventually gets murdered at the age of 27.

He meets his guardian angel and his soul, and both of them share with him an extremely positive perspective on all of his slip-ups, so much so that he can see the divine perfection that his life has been.
