Summary

David Glantz examines the Stalingrad campaign of the Second World War. The authors undertook extensive and painstaking research to produce a detailed account of the first phase of the battle for Stalingrad and the Caucasus oilfields south of the city. The battle proved to be a turning point in Hitler's fortunes in the war.
