This book provides an overview of electronic signal processing for optical fiber communications and an in-depth discussion of some hot topics in this area, such as electronic dispersion compensation, signal processing after coherent detection, and analog integrated circuits. Electronic signal processing for optical communications is the subject of much research at this time. Many books on signal processing are highly mathematical and are written for applications in low-speed electrical communication systems. Therefore, it is not easy for readers from the optics community to understand those books. The proposed book will describe basic concepts and physics as well as necessary mathematical equations. The book will also provide the Matlab programs of simulation tools. Interested readers can run computer simulations to explore more details and use these programs in their own work.
