About the Authors337
Monty Armstrong has been teaching Advanced Placement for 16 years and been an Advanced Placement Exam reader for 8. He is a sample selector and table leader for the AP World History Exam and is also the moderator of the Electronic Discussion Group for this test. He has been a presenter at numerous state and national meetings and AP Institutes and workshops. Mr. Armstrong teaches at Cerritos High School in Southern California. David Daniel has taught for The Princeton Review for the past 11 years. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and The Ohio State University College of Law, David currently makes his home in New York City, where he is Director of Guidance Services for The Princeton Review. Alexandra Freer has been teaching students how to beat the SAT since 1987. As Executive Director of The Princeton Review in New Jersey, Alex not only helped prepare thousands of students for the SAT, LSAT, GMAT, GRE and MCAT, but also worked to refine The Princeton Review's test-taking strategies. Alex's writing credits include The Girl's Guide to the SAT, Cracking the System for the SAT 2000 Edition and Cracking the AP Psychology Exam. Abby B. Kanarek received her doctorate in Environmental Analysis and Design from the University of California, Irvine. She has been involved in test preparation at all grade levels for more than fifteen years, with particular emphasis on verbal skills and social studies.
