Rachael Ray is not a chef. She is a cook schooled in a home kitchen run by her mother and earlier, her grandfather. As a food service professional and buyer, she has managed gourmet marketplaces in Manhattan and upstate NY, but her first love is teaching others to cook. Making gourmet meals for everyday is her specialty. In 1997, her first year on the weekly TV show "The 30-Minute Meal" for WRGB Albany, she was nominated for an Emmy. She makes her home in Lake Luzerne, NY. Dan Dinicola is a three-time Emmy award-winning reporter who excelled at boiling water and creating hard meat loafs. On "The 30-Minute Meal" television show, as Rachael's student, he has learned how to make outrageously good meals, many appearing in this book. Audiences know that if Dan can do it, so can they!
