Julia Beckett (Ph.D., University of Colorado at Denver) is an associate professor in the Department of Public Administration and Urban Studies at the University of Akron, where she teaches courses in public law, public organization theory, public budgeting, and urban policy in the master's and Ph.D. programs in public administration and urban studies. Her research interests include public law, public administration and budget history, and emergency management. She co-edited a volume on public law as part of the ASPA Classics series published by M.E. Sharpe, and has published numerous journal articles and contributed chapters to scholarly books on public law, legal research, budget theory, intergovernmental relations, and public bureaucracy.
