Jay is highly sceptical when his mum makes him join the Scouts to stop him getting in with the wrong sort of kids just before he starts secondary school. Jay is used to spending his days playing computer games and hanging out, and he's sure sure that orienteering on the moors is not his sort of thing at all. Despite his reluctance, Jay finds himself drawn into the warmth of Tiger patrol and the whole Scout troop . The Tiger patrol leaders do their best to welcome him and the other new members are very likeable too. Jay soon discovers that he can make a really useful contribution to the patrol - and have a lot of fun at the same time.
