In a world that moves rapidly and offers so many distractions, the simple act of slowing down and paying attention is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. Courtney and Michael Adamo are parents of five (and the authors of The Family Home) and in their second book, At Home in Every Season, they’re focused on getting back to nature and teaching kids how to connect with the cycles and rhythms of the seasons through play, crafts and activities that can be done as a family.

Each season brings its own gifts – spring’s budding blossoms and fresh beginnings, summer’s warmth and golden light, autumn’s crisp air and vibrant colours, and winter’s quiet stillness. By celebrating these changes, we teach our children to tune in to the subtleties around them. From going on a nature walk and making flower crowns to creating a seashell mobile and planting seedlings, At Home in Every Season is a beautiful celebration of the seasons and a practical guide for entertaining kids without the need for screens.

Courtney and Michael Adamo are parents of five children, ranging from school-aged to young adults, and experts in family life. Born in the US, they moved to London as a new couple in 2003 and lived there for 12 years before travelling the world with their young family and settling in Byron Bay, Australia.

Courtney was the co-founder of Babyccino Kids, one of the first family lifestyle and parenting blogs in the UK. As Babyccino's audience and engagement grew, Courtney learned what mothers from around the UK, US and Europe found rewarding, challenging, perplexing and comforting, and created resources to respond to these needs.

Courtney has since created online courses, e-books and a membership program that allows her to connect with parents from all over the world by sharing a look inside her home, teaching the principles that guided her and Michael in raising their kids, and tips for creating a creative home where imagination and nature-based play are encouraged.

Courtney and Michael are also the authors of The Family Home (Hardie Grant Books, 2025).
