Enric is a student at the San Gabriel de Palma de Mallorca Catholic school who is known for his extraordinary intelligence, but also for his complex and eccentric personality—he displays a lack of empathy and emotion that surprises even his two best friends, Jaume and Francesco. As 1974 goes on, life in San Gabriel (and the rest of Spain) is being pulled in two different directions. Religious conservatives fight to prevent change as they come up against a group of professors timidly attempting to open the minds of their students.
