ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

An exciting novel about the end of the Visigothic Kingdom and the beginnings of the Muslim conquest of the Iberian Peninsula. Yeyo Balbás gives us a masterful recreation full of epic and extraordinary characters.

Ahead of an empire eager for conquest and a kingdom poisoned by enemies and betrayals, the time has come to take up arms.

711 AD. After the death of Wittiza, king of the Goths, and the rightful heir being underage, Roderic, Duke of Baetica, will be the chosen one for the throne. He must then face the break in alliance between the two great Visigoth lineages, the plague, and hunger that ravages the entire country. Next to him, we find Fruela, youngest son to Peter Duke of Cantabria, who will be involved in the imperial disputes between the different groups of nobles.

Before the imminent arrival of the Islamic Empire to the Pillars of Hercules to impose jihad, Fruela must accompany Roderic to the southern end of the kingdom, where the fate of Spania will be decided.
