Summary

Connect® Management is available with Bateman M: Management! Connect Management is McGraw-Hill’s web-based assignment and assessment platform that connects you and your students to the coursework. Interactive Applications provided for each chapter of the textbook allow instructors to assign application-focused interactive activities, engage students to “do” management, stimulate critical thinking, and reinforce key concepts. Students apply what they’ve learned and receive immediate feedback. Instructors can customize these activities and monitor student progress. Connect Management for Bateman/Snell M: Management includes:
  • LearnSmart (STUDY), which has been nominated for 2012 SIIA CODIE Awards in Best Cross-Curricular Solution, and Best Postsecondary Instructional Solution, is an adaptive learning system to help students learn faster, study more efficiently, and retain more knowledge for greater success. It pinpoints concepts the student does not understand and maps out a personalized study plan for success. Based on students’ self-diagnoses of their proficiency, LearnSmart intelligently provides students with a series of adaptive questions. This provides students with a personalized one-on-one tutor experience. Instructors have access to reports that highlight progress and areas for additional reinforcement for students as well as an at-a-glance view into students’ strengths and weaknesses
  • Interactive Applications (ASSESS) for each chapter of the textbook that allow students to practice real business situations, stimulate critical thinking, and reinforce key concepts. Students receive immediate feedback and can track their progress in their own report. Detailed results let instructors see at a glance how each student performs and easily track the progress of every student in their course. In addition to the interactive questions, Bateman’s M:Management will have language toolkits including key terms and chapter quizzes (15-25 questions per chapter)
  • Manager’s Hot Seat Online! Now instructors can put students in the hot seat with access to an interactive program. Students are given an introduction to the situation, view a dossier of related management materials, and then watch 15 real managers apply their years of experience when confronting unscripted issues. As the scenario unfolds, questions about how the manager is handling the situation pop up, forcing the student to make decisions along with the manager. At the end of the scenario, students watch a post-interview with the manager, view how their responses matched up to the manager’s decisions, and then submit a report critiquing the manager’s choices while defending their own. Access to this online program is provided as part of Connect access for this text
  • Self-Assessment Gallery– McGraw-Hill’s Self-Assessment Gallery provides a comprehensive tool of 19 automatically scored self-assessments. Unique among publisher provided self-assessments, every one of our instruments provides students with background information to ensure students understand the purpose of the assessment they are about to take. And after students complete the self-assessment, a score is displayed along with detailed feedback on what the score actually means
  • Get the Real Scoop: Young Managers Speak Out– Every chapter opens with a young manager speaking out about management issues covered in the chapter to follow. Just a few years out of college, these managers speak about their experience as first line managers, a position that successful students will can see themselves in a few short years. A video clip of the young managers is available on Connect
  • Test Your Knowledge– This interactive application supports student’s review of key management concepts. A quick review of the conceptual materials is followed by application based questions for students to work thru. Students can choose ‘practice mode’, which provides them with detailed feedback after each question, or ‘test mode’, which provides feedback after the entire test has been completed
  • Management Asset Gallery— McGraw-Hill/Irwin Management is excited to now provide a one-stop-shop for our wealth of assets making it extremely quick and easy for instructors to locate specific materials to enhance their course. The Asset Gallery includes all non-text-specific management resources (Self-Assessments, Test Your Knowledge exercises, Videos (OB, HRM, Management, Manager’s Hot Seat, Destination CEO, and Management in the Movies), additional group & individual exercises and more, along with supporting PowerPoint® and Instructor Manual materials.
