David J. Miklowitz, PhD, is Professor of Psychiatry in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine, and Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Oxford University. His research focuses on family environmental factors and family psychoeducational treatments for adult-onset and childhood-onset bipolar disorder. Dr. Miklowitz is a recipient of the Distinguished Investigator Award from the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression and the Mogens Schou Award for Research from the International Society for Bipolar Disorders, among other honors. He has published over 200 articles, book chapters, and books.
Dante Cicchetti, PhD, is McKnight Presidential Chair and Professor of Child Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on developmental theory as well as science, policy, and practice related to child maltreatment, depression, mental retardation, and other domains of development. Dr. Cicchetti has received awards including the three highest honors of the Developmental Division of the American Psychological Association: the G. Stanley Hall Award for Distinguished Contribution to Developmental Psychology, in the Service of science and society, and the Mentor Award in Developmental Psychology. He has published over 400 articles, books, and journal special issues, and is the founding and current Editor of Development and Psychopathology.
