Lao Tse did not found any school. Did not feel the need nor the desire to do so, because it did not intend to spread any doctrine. He discerned the great universal connections, and pouredlabouriously what he had seen into words, leaving other spirits of later times the task of continuinghis directions and to see for themselves the whole world and the truths he discovered. The truth is that in all times there have been thinkers capable of raising their vision over the phenomenon of human life to the eternal sense of the cosmic process, whose greatness defy conceptualization. This version of the Tao Te King, finally translated with commentaries by Richard Wilhelm, puts at the scope of the contemporary reader timeless message of Lao Tse. Tao wants to find peace in it and the relief arising from the importance of the seriousness of life, one seriously lacking essential intrinsic value.
