Kenneth W. Merrell, PhD, is Professor of School Psychology at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where he has served as School Psychology Program Director and as head of the Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences. His research and clinical interests focus on social and emotional learning in schools and social-emotional assessment and intervention with children and adolescents. He has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on these topics, as well as several books, assessment instruments, and intervention programs. Dr. Merrell has extensive experience in working with children and youth in school settings and in leading academic and research programs.

 

Barbara A. Gueldner, PhD, is a psychologist with Parker Pediatrics and Adolescents in the greater Denver, Colorado, metro area. She has over a decade of experience working as a school psychologist in the public school systems in Wisconsin and Oregon and with children from infancy through young adulthood in pediatric primary care and intensive medical and psychiatric inpatient care. Dr. Gueldner’s research and clinical interests comprise universal prevention of and early intervention into children’s mental health concerns, issues in pediatric psychology, consultation, and training mental health professionals. She has coauthored several articles and book chapters on these topics and a social and emotional learning curriculum for students.
