Kelly Broxterman, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of School Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she is also Coordinator of the Service Learning Program. She has been nominated for excellence in teaching and service learning awards at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology on multiple occasions. Previously, Dr. Broxterman worked as a school psychologist and professional learning and leadership consultant for Heartland Area Education Agency in Iowa. She has presented nationally in the area of data-based decision making and RTI. Her current efforts involve consulting with schools implementing RTI. With Rachel Brown-Chidsey and Louise Bronaugh, she is a coauthor of RTI in the Classroom: Guidelines and Recipes for Success. Angela J. Whalen, PhD, is an Instructor and Co-Director of Training in the School Psychology Program at the University of Oregon. Previously, Dr. Whalen worked as a school psychologist, data/literacy facilitator, and staff development specialist for the Vancouver (Washington) Public Schools and Heartland Area Education Agency in Iowa. Over the past 14 years, she has presented and consulted with schools nationally on topics related to RTI and data-based decision making. Her primary professional interests include academic assessment and intervention, supporting school improvement efforts that promote student achievement, and training and supervision in school psychology.
