Muhammad Idrees Ahmad is Senior Lecturer in Journalism, UK. He is a sociologist, journalist and international relations scholar based in Scotland. He lectures in sociology, politics, international relations, philosophy, journalism, religion, media and cultural studies at the Universities of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Sheffield and Stirling. He has designed and taught an MA in International Journalism at De Montfort University. His first book, The Road to Jerusalem: American Neoconservatism and the Iraq War, will be published by the Edinburgh University Press. He writes for Al Jazeera English, Le Monde Diplomatique, The National, Asia Times, IPS News, and Political Insight. His writings have also appeared in the London Review of Books Blog, Adbusters, Guernica, Mondoweiss.net, Canadian Dimension, Tanqeed, The Electronic Intifada, Variant, The Drouth, etc. He has also appeared as an on-air analyst on Al Jazeera International, the BBC, RAI TV and several Pacifica Radio channels.
