Over the past decade, minimally invasive techniques have developed rapidly and are widely applied in the management of spinal disorders. With the development of enabling technologies including specifically designed spinal retractor systems, intra-operative imaging and navigation technologies, and real-time neural monitoring these techniques are safe, effective and reproducible. Studies have confirmed clinical and economic advantages of minimally invasive spine (MIS) procedures. The proposed book will include detailed discussions of MIS surgical techniques from experts in the field (to include surgical DVDs) as well as discussion of the application of these techniques to disease conditions of the spine.
