Albert Thumann, P.E., C.E.M., is currently Executive Director of the Association of Energy Engineers. A 13-year veteran of the Bechtel Corporation, he has had extensive hands-on experience in engineering, project management, construction, start-up, and operation. His project involvement has included supervision of multi-million dollar projects in the pharmaceutical, refinery, chemical, pulp and paper, and fertilizer industries. Other books authored by Mr. Thumann include Project Management for Engineering and Construction, Lighting Efficiency Applications, Handbook of Energy Audits, Energy Management Guide for Government Buildings, Introduction to Efficient Electrical Systems Design, Optimizing HVAC Systems, and Plant Engineers' and Managers' Guide to Energy Conservation. He is listed in Who's Who in America, and is a member of AEE, IEEE, NSPE, ASA, and ASAE. He holds a MSEE and MSIE from New York University. Terry Niehus, P.E., C.E.M., C.E.A., is president of Cudjoebay Consulting, a firm specializing in technical training and energy auditing. His clients have included electric and gas utilities, the Army National Guard, the Corps of Engineers, and hundreds of commercial and industrial businesses. Mr. Niehus has extensive experience as a trainer, having taught courses including the AEE Certified Energy Auditor preparation class, motors and drives, HVAC, compressed air, and thermal energy storage. He has also authored training and technical resource manuals in areas related to his training programs. Younger, C.E.M., C.B.E.P., C.E.A., is the Director of Commercial and Industrial Programs at CLEAResult Consulting, where he is responsible for development of commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs for utilities across the country. He has developed and administered energy and resource management activities and training programs for utilities, state energy offices, commercial building operators, industrial plant operators, and energy professionals for over 25 years. Mr. Younger has managed energy auditing activities, motor system management programs, and provided technical support for a wide range of demand side management projects, utility tracking and facility management software products, and web-based energy interval data presentment systems. As an energy specialist for the Washington State Energy Office and the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, he managed conservation retrofit programs and implemented monitoring procedures to evaluate post-retrofit performance of energy conservation projects in commercial and institutional buildings.
