When somebody famous dies, the New York Timesoccasionally runs a crossword puzzle dedicated to that person. The maker of these macabre tributes is usually the one and only David J. Kahn, whose expertise has earned him a reputation as the "Grid Reaper." Now Kahn has turned his talents to 50 dead celebrities and constructed a crossword about each, full of fun facts, trivia, and wordplay worthy of their subjects, who include such notables as Pope John Paul II, Rosa Parks, Frank Sinatra, Julia Child, and George Carlin.
