Jeff Lenburg is an award-winning author, celebrity biographer, and nationally acknowledged expert on animated cartoons. He has spent nearly three decades researching and writing about this lively art. He is the author of Facts On File's The Encyclopedia of Animated Cartoons, Third Edition, considered the definitive reference among animation fans. He has written more than 30 books, including such acclaimed histories of animation as Who's Who in Animated Cartoons and The Great Cartoon Directors. His books have been nominated for several awards, including the American Library Association's "Best Non-Fiction Award" and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's Cold Medallion Award for "Best Autobiography/Biography." He lives in Arizona. Bob Kurtz, founder of the Burbank-based animation studio Kurtz Friends, writes, designs, and directs entertainment films and television commercials. His work includes animation sequences. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including an Emmy for the PBS special Roman City, the Peabody Award for the Lily Tomlin special Edith Ann's Christmas, ASIFA Hollywood's Annie Award for Lifetime Achievement, and more than 250 international awards. His films are included in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles, and the ASIFA Archive in Germany. Kurtz was also formerly recognized as Adweek's "Animator of the Year" and as Japan's "Artist of the Year."
