The book is about the electoral rise of extreme and radical right-wing parties in Britain and Europe, though mainly the British National Party (BNP) and UK Independence Party (UKIP). Drawing on broader approaches in the study of electoral behaviour, the book explains who supports these parties and why, while also considering the dynamics of party competition. The authors utilises a range of individual and contextual level data, as well as interviews with party elites, to provide unprecedented insight into public support for the modern far right.
